Easy to make granola bars from scratch. Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
1 tsp cinnamon |
1 cup whole wheat flour |
1 cup raisins |
1/2 tsp kosher salt |
1/2 cup honey |
1/4 cup egg substitute, beaten |
1/2 cup applesauce |
2 tsp vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 for convection oven). 2. Spray 9x13 pan with non-stick cooking spray. 3. In a large bowl, mix together the oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, raisins and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the honey, egg, applesauce and vanilla. Mix well. 4. Pat the mixture evenly into the prepared pan 5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the bars turn golden at the edges. Cool for 5 minutes then cut into bars while still warm. Do not allow the bars to cool completely before cutting or they will be too hard to cut. |
