I love making homemade croutons from 1-2 day old breads like Baguettes, french breads, artesan breads, etc. Croutons can be used by themselves, as a fingerfood/snack, on top of green salads, or mixed with tomatoes, etc, and made into a healthy, veggie snack! Read more ! Ingredients:
1-2 day old wheat baguette (or whatever you have leftover) |
evoo |
kosher salt |
garlic powder |
Directions:
1. Cut or break bread into meduim sized pieces and cluster together on baking sheet. 2. Drizzle with EVOO 3. Sprinkle with salt 4. Sprinkle with garlic powder 5. Spread the bread evenly around the baking sheet 6. Bake at 325-350 for 15 minutes, or until golden and crisp 7. **there are so many variations...you can use fresh or dried herbs or seasonings to achieve the particular flavor you want.
