So much better than store-bought. Ingredients:
1 cup vegetable oil |
2 teaspoons dried italian seasoning |
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon pepper |
1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper |
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano, crumbled |
10 slices white bread, cut into 1 inch squares |
garlic salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F 2. Combine the oil, Italian seasoning, lemon pepper, black pepper, and oregano in a squeeze bottle and shake well to combine. 3. Place bread on a baking sheet and season lightly with garlic salt. Squeeze on some of the oil and toss. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the bread starts to turn lightly golden. Remove from the oven, toss the bread, and squeeze on a little more oil if needed. Return to oven and continue baking until the croutons are dry and golden. Let cool completely and store in an airtight container. Any leftover oil can be saved for your next batch of croutons. |
