This is a recipe for homemade caramels that is both awesome to eat and easy to make! Ingredients:
1 cup butter or margarine |
1 lb bag of brown sugar |
dash of salt |
1 cup of light corn syrup |
1 can (15 oz) sweetened condensed milk |
1 tsp vanilla |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in heavy 3 qt saucepan 2. Add brown sugar and salt stirring until thoroughly combined 3. Blend in corn syrup 4. Gradually add sweetened condensed milk 5. STIR CONSTANTLY OVER MED HEAT UNTIL CANDY REACHES 245 DEGREES 6. Remove from heat 7. Stir in vanilla 8. Pour into a buttered 9 x 13 pan 9. Cool 10. Cut into small pieces and wrap in wax paper |
