Ingredients:
2 package(s) active dry yeast |
1/2 cup(s) warm water |
1 3/4 cup(s) milk scalded |
1/4 cup(s) sugar |
1 teaspoon(s) salt |
1/4 cup(s) salad oil |
6 or 7 cup(s) all-purpose flour sifted |
2 eggs beaten |
Directions:
1. Soften yeast in water. 2. In large mixing bowl, combine milk, sugar, salt, and salad oil. Add 2 cups of the flour; beat well. 3. Remove from mixer; add enough remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough. 4. Turn out on lightly floured surface; knead till smooth and satiny, 8 to 10 minutes. 5. Cover; let rest 10 minutes. Divide into 8 balls; mound each like a bun; fold over sides and tuck in ends. 6. Place each in a greased 5 1/2 x 3 x 2 loaf pan; butter tops generously. 7. Cover; let double, about 45 minutes. 8. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or till done. |
