Homeade Scalloped Potatoes and Ham |

No cream soup here. Very good served with corn and buttered bread. Ingredients:
1/2 cup light margarine |
1/2 cup flour |
3 cups skim milk |
2 -3 cups ham, cubed |
1/4 cup white onion, chopped |
1/2 cup cheddar cheese |
5 cups potatoes, peeled and sliced |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat; whisk in flour. 2. Stir in milk, turn heat up to medium or medium high heat and whisk until thickened and bubbly. 3. Stir in ham, onion, and cheese. 4. Put potaotes in bottom of 13 X 9 greased pan. Pour ham mixture over potatoes. Sprinkle with black pepper (optional). 5. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for 1 hour, stirring every so often. |
