No box stuff. Made from scratch, but is light and not the hard crunchy stuff your Grandma used to make. Ingredients:
4 tbs corn meal |
2 tbs self-rising flour |
2 tbs sugar |
1 level tbs of baking powder |
1 pinch of salt (dime size in the palm of your hand) |
1 egg |
milk |
Directions:
1. Mix the above ingredients together in a bowl. 2. Add enough milk to make the mixture slightly runny. I 3. f the mix ends up lumpy, you may use a whisk to break the lumps up, but don't over use! 4. Spray a round cake pan with a non-stick spray. 5. After mixing the ingredients, pour it in the cake pan. 6. Put in the oven at about 400 degrees. Let it cook for about 15 to 20 minutes (depending upon your oven). Corn bread is finished when it turns a golden brown color. 7. Remove from oven, cut into pie slices. Add butter while it is hot if you desire. Eat and enjoy! |
