This pate is really heavenly and not difficult to make. After a party, I always give this recipe out, because everyone is asking for it! Ingredients:
125 g diced bacon (1 cup) |
1 onion, diced |
1 garlic clove |
250 g chicken livers (2 cups) |
75 g butter or margarine (1/2 cup) |
13 ml sherry or brandy (1 tblsp) |
25 ml cream (2 tblsp) |
25 ml finely chopped parsley (2 tblsp) |
2 ml salt (3/4 teaspoon) |
1 ml blackpepper (1/4 teaspoon) |
1 slice of whole grain bread |
pinch mixed spices |
Directions:
1. Put onion, garlic and bacon in a microwaveable bowl. 2. Microwavw at 100 % for 5 minutes while stirring in between. 3. Put in the chicken livers, butter and spices. 4. Mix well. 5. Microwave for another 5 minutes. 6. Stirr and let it cool down. 7. Stirr in the brandy or sherry. 8. Stirr in the cream. 9. Put in the parsley, salt and pepper. 10. Break the bread into pieces into the bowl. 11. Mix all together. 12. Put into a foodprocessor. 13. Consistency must be like a spread. 14. Put into bowls and into the freezer until needed. |
