This technique gives real home-churned butter taste, but spreads easily. Use to spread on breads, sweet breads, pancakes, muffins, etc.-anything you would use butter for. This can also be put in pretty crocks, along with a decorative spreader and given as gifts. Ingredients:
2 1/2 lbs butter |
1/2 tablespoon salt |
2 cups buttermilk |
Directions:
1. Allow 2 1/2 lbs. butter to come to room temperature for about 1-2 hours. 2. Beat with electric mixer, adding 1/2 T. salt, 2 cups buttermilk until light and fluffy. 3. Keep refrigerated in a covered container. |
