The easiest single serve ever ! Made with REAL dairy goodness, not that pretend cheese in the box on the shelf. Don't freak about the 6 slices of cheese,... How much do you think is in that greasy pizza that you almost ordered ?? You can also jazz this up with a small handful of leftover chicken, a little sauteed onion & peppers or mushrooms, even a small amount of broccoli or grated zucchini to keep your mother happy. Ingredients:
1 cup dry elbow macaroni |
1/2 cup whole milk |
6 slices cheddar cheese (torn into pieces) |
Directions:
1. Place 4 cups water in a pot & bring to boil. 2. When boiling, add a half teaspoon salt to the water, add pasta & cook for 7 minutes. 3. While pasta cooks, place cold milk & cheese in a pan & put over medium low heat so that the cheese melts slowly but DO NOT BOIL. 4. When pasta is done, drain & add to sauce & stir together over medium heat for a minute or so or until the thickness is to your liking. 5. NOTES:. 6. Any additions should be cooked or warmed in the pan before adding milk & cheese. 7. The better way to make Mac & Cheese is to make a roux with a teaspoon each of flour & butter but I have no problem with the cheese lumping if I use the soft processed sandwich cheese that everyone keeps in the fridge. |
