I've made these around the holiday season and they're always a hit, followed by demands for the recipe or requests to bring it to the next event. Buy two tins of mixed nuts when they're on sale, or stick with only almonds or cashews, or do a peanut free version with only deluxe nuts. Ingredients:

3 c. flour |
1 c. soft butter |
1.5 c. brown sugar |
syrup |
4 tbsp butter |
1 c. corn syrup |
12 oz. butterscotch chips |
2 tbsp water |
Directions:
1. BASE 2. Mix the above ingredients together then press into a 13x9 baking dish or lasagna pan. Bake at 350F for 10 minutes. 3. SYRUP 4. Prepare the syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. Heat until the butterscotch chips have melted through. Sprinkle 2 cans of deluxe mixed nuts over the base then pour syrup over top to cover thoroughly. Bake again for 10 minutes at 350F. Let cool then cut into squares when soft. Yum! |
