Found this recipe in the latest issue of Woman's World . It is a holiday version of the classic 7-layer bars. Ingredients:
1 cup chopped hazelnuts |
1 (9 ounce) package chocolate wafer cookies |
2 tablespoons sugar |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
1 (11 ounce) package peanut butter and milk chocolate chips |
1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips |
2 cups sweetened flaked coconut |
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk |
1/2 cup red and green m&m's plain chocolate candy |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Spread nuts over ungreased baking sheet;bake until lightly browned,3-4 minutes. 3. Cool. 4. Line 13 by 9-inch baking pan with heavy-duty foil; coat with cooking spray. 5. In food processor process cookies and sugar until fine crumbs form; stir in butter. 6. Press into bottom of pan. 7. Sprinkle with peanut butter and milk chocolate chips, then semi-sweet chips; sprinkle with nuts, then half of coconut. 8. Pour milk over coconut; sprinkle with remaining coconut. 9. Bake 25-30 minutes or until chocolate is melted and coconut is toasted. 10. Immediately sprinkle with M&Ms; press to adhere. 11. Cool completely in pan. 12. Refrigerate until cold, 2 hours; cut into bars. |
