This came from a chili cookbook I found at the library. The name says it all. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1/2 lb hot pork sausage |
1 large onion, chopped |
1 clove garlic, minced |
1 (10 ounce) can tomato paste |
1 (10 ounce) can tomatoes and green chilies |
16 ounces stewed tomatoes |
1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans |
2 (16 ounce) cans kidney beans |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
1/2 tablespoon cumin |
2 teaspoons salt |
2 tablespoons sugar |
2 tablespoons white vinegar |
1 dash pepper |
4 cups water |
Directions:
1. Brown beef, sausage, onion and garlic. 2. Drain. 3. Add remaining ingredients. 4. (I like to rinse the beans). 5. Bring to a boil. 6. Lower heat and simmer 3 hours. 7. Add more water if needed. 8. This is good topped with shredded cheddar cheese. |
