The REAL Hoagie Dip....South Philly!:) By La:) Ingredients:
1/4 lb domestic ham |
1/4 lb genoa salami, salamni |
1/4 lb turkey breast |
1/2 lb american cheese (or 1/4 provolone and 1/4 american) |
1/2 head lettuce |
2 medium tomatoes |
1 small onion |
3 cups mayonnaise |
1 tablespoon oregano |
1 tablespoon parsley |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Chop up cheese (3 slices on top of each other at a time) and separate. Chop up rest of lunchmeat and separate. Mix all together well. Chop lettuce, tomatoes and onion (I use a food processor placing a bit of each in at a time). Mix in mayonnaise until well mixed. Add remaining seasonings to taste. Mix VERY well. Let stand in refridgerator over night. **Tip: if you don't have time, place in freezer for 1 hour and then in fridge for 2**. Let stand at room temperature for at least 1 1/2 hours before serving. Will be watery. Mix well. Slice baguette (or thin italian bread) bread into thin small pieces and serve. |
