Get ready for the compliments. This is a recipe I got a number of years ago in a recipe swap group. It's named after the lady that submitted it. We like to make this for Super Bowl. With a crusty bread it's the bombdigity! Read more ! Don't let the popcorn fool you, it;s really tasty. Ingredients:
2 pounds american cheese |
4 cups beer (5 if your a sampler cooker) |
8 cups chicken stock |
1/8 - 1/4 cup finely chopped onion (according to taste) |
1/2 cup butter (soft) |
1/2 cup flour |
dash white pepper (i prefer more than a dash, but it's to taste) |
freshly popped popcorn |
Directions:
1. Grate all cheese 2. Bring beer to a boil in large pan, reduce by approximately 1/2. Add chicken stock, pepper and onion, bring back to soft boil. 3. In a separate dish, combine butter and flour and mix into a paste. Stir into the mixture. Boil for a few minutes longer 4. Remove from heat. Add the cheese and stir well 5. After serving into bowls, scattter freshly popped popcorn over the top. Not only does it hold in the heat, it is DELICIOUS 6. Make 12 cups |
