Recipe From : Favorite High Altitude Recipes 1948. Ingredients:
3 cups flour |
1 cup shortening or 1 cup butter |
1 cup brown sugar |
2 eggs |
1 cup brown sugar |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon clove |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon allspice |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
2/3 cup sour milk |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375F and grease a13 x 9 pan or two smaller pans. 2. Mix first three ingredients in mixing bowl until the fine crumb stage. 3. Reserve 1 cup of this mixture for topping. 4. Combine the remaining ingredients and add to the crumb mixture. 5. Pour into prepared pan and top with the reserved crumbs. 6. Bake for 25 minutes. |
