I don't love turkey, and I don't like turkey soup. So what do you do with all the leftovers? Make chicken soup! I froze all my turkey in one-cup increments and make this soup. My kids love the taste, I love the simplicity, and my turkey gets used. Ingredients:
1 cup turkey |
1 1/2 cups condensed cream of chicken soup |
4 cups water |
1 cup frozen mixed vegetables |
2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules |
1 bay leaf |
1/4 teaspoon basil |
1/4 teaspoon oregano |
1/8 teaspoon thyme |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes |
salt and pepper |
4 ounces egg noodles |
Directions:
1. Mix everything but the noodles in your slow-cooker. Season according to taste. 2. Cook the egg noodles and set aside. (If it will be several hours before dinner, refrigerate.). 3. Cook on low or high for 2-4 hours. 4. Shortly before eating, add the noodles. (You may want to microwave them first depending on how much time there is.). |
