Another recipe that does not give cook time. Ingredients:
3 c. flour |
1/2 tsp. salt |
2 c. sugar |
1 tsp. vanilla |
3 tsps. baking soda |
2/3 c. butter |
1 c. milk |
5 egg whites (beaten stiff) |
1 1/2 c. hickory nuts |
Directions:
1. To flour, add baking powder and salt and sift together 3 times. 2. Cream butter thoroughly. 3. Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. 4. Add flour mixture alternately with milk a small amount at a time. 5. Beat after each addition until smooth. 6. Add vanilla, fold in eggs and nut kernels. 7. Bake in 3 layers at 350 degrees. |
