What more can I say then moist sweet Chocolate cake! My family was craving something sweet tonight so I made this cake for them! It turned out good. Enjoy! Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
1 3/4 cups flour |
3/4 cups of cocoa ( i used hershey's brand) |
1 1/2 tsp baking powder |
1 1/2 tsp baking soda |
1 tsp salt |
2 eggs |
1 cup milk |
1/2 vegetable oil |
2 tsp vanilla extract |
1 cup boiling water |
perfectly chocolate frosting(recipe below) |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350*. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans 2. Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl. 3. Add eggs, milk,oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed of mixer for 2 minutes. 4. Stir in water(batter will be thin) 5. Pour batter evenly into prepared pans. 6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until wodden pick inserted into center comes out clean. 7. Cool 10 minutes;remove from pans to wire racks and cool completely. 8. Prepare frosting 9. 1/2 cup butter 10. 2/3 cup cocoa 11. 3 cups powdered sugar 12. 1/3 cup milk 13. 1 tsp vanilla extract 14. Melt butter. 15. Stir in cocoa. 16. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, beating to spreading consistency. 17. Add small amount additional milk, if needed. 18. Stir in vanilla. 19. Spread frosting between layers and over top and sides of cake. |
