This cake is so moist! My pop loves chocolate cake and his birthday is coming up. I want to make him a special cake. When I started going through the recipe files, cookbooks, and internet, I came across this. OH MAN! I can't wait to try it. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened |
4 tablespoons hershey's cocoa powder |
1 cup water |
1/2 cup buttermilk |
2 cups sugar |
2 eggs |
2 cups self-rising flour |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar |
3 tablespoons cocoa powder |
2 -3 tablespoons milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9x13 pan. 2. Beat the butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and cocoa. 3. On low, beat in the remaining ingredients. 4. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool and frost. 5. To prepare frosting: Beat together butter and cocoa until blended. Mix in the powdered sugar and milk until a good spreading consistency is reached. Add the vanilla. Spread on cake. |
