With an old fashioned flavour they will have your kids coming back for more. It's my husband's favorite cookie. Ingredients:
4 1/2 cups flour |
4 teaspoons baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
1 1/2 teaspoons ginger |
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves |
1 cup raisins |
1 cup chopped nuts |
2 cups sugar |
1 1/2 cups margarine, softened |
2 eggs |
1/2 cup molasses |
sugar, for rolling |
Directions:
1. Mix the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, raisins and nuts in a bowl. Cream 2 cups sugar, margarine and eggs in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in the molasses. Add the flour mixture and mix well. Chill, covered, for 2 hours. 2. Preheat the oven to 325*F. 3. Shape the dough into fingersize pieces. Roll in sugar. Arrange on greased cookie sheets. 4. Bake for 7 minutes. Cool on wire racks. |
