See: Herman Sourdough Starter This recipe is for a coffee cake using that starter. Ingredients:

2 cup herman starter |
1 cup sugar |
2/3 cup oil |
2 cup flour |
2 tsp baking powder |
1/2 tsp baking soda |
1 tsp cinnamon |
3/4 tsp nutmeg |
3/4 tsp ginger |
2 each eggs |
13/4 cup walnuts |
strusel |
1 tb flour |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
1 tb cinnamon |
1/4 cup melted butter |
2/3 cup chopped walnuts |
glaze |
2/3 cup powdered sugar |
4 tb milk |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients and pour into a well greased and floured 9 inch baking dish. 2. Top with strusel. 3. Bake 35 minutes in 350 F oven. Surface will brown darkley if allowed. Keep surface color light. 4. Remove from oven and places cakes on a rack to cool. Drizzle the glaze over the top when cool. |
