This was served at a local long closed tea room. They served it with chicken salad and it was gorgeous! It has the consistancy of almost a melba toast. I also put it out on holiday appetizer tables. Ingredients:
1 teaspoon whole thyme |
1 teaspoon whole rosemary |
1 teaspoon basil |
1 teaspoon marjoram |
2 teaspoons sesame seeds |
1 cup unsalted butter, softened |
1 loaf thinly sliced white bread (i use pepperidge farms) |
Directions:
1. Whip butter. 2. Add herbs and sesame seeds. 3. Spread very thinly on both sides of bread. 4. Place as many as possible on a flat baking sheet. 5. Bake at 350 degrees until browned on both sides, (turning if necessary) about 20 minutes per pan. 6. Repeat until all toast is done. |
