This is an absolutely awesome dish. I have had this recipe for years and it is a great winter dish when you can't use the BBQ. You don't have to use the 3 lbs. of ribs; I just use whatever looks closest. Ingredients:
3 lbs beef short ribs or 3 lbs spareribs, cut into pieces |
salt & pepper |
2 tablespoons oil |
2 cloves garlic, minced |
1/2 cup onion, chopped |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 tablespoon vinegar |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
1 teaspoon dry mustard |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 teaspoon thyme |
1/4 teaspoon oregano |
1/4 teaspoon basil |
1/2 bay leaf |
1 cup tomato sauce |
1/2 cup water |
Directions:
1. Sprinkle ribs with salt& pepper. 2. Heat oil in saucepan; saute onion until tender; add garlic. 3. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 10 min. 4. Parboil ribs, then place in a shallow pan. 5. Cover with sauce. 6. Bake at 375* for 30 min. |
