2/3 cup uncooked orzo |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
2 (14 1/4-ounce) cans chicken broth |
1/2 cup water |
2/3 cup uncooked wild rice |
3/4 cup uncooked long-grain rice |
1 bay leaf |
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried thyme |
1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage or 1 teaspoon rubbed sage |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper |

Directions:
1. Lightly brown orzo in oil in a 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring often. Remove orzo from saucepan, and set aside. 2. Add chicken broth, water, and wild rice to saucepan; bring to a boil over medium heat. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. 3. Stir in orzo, long-grain rice, and remaining ingredients.
