Herbed Green Beans and Mushrooms |

This recipe is great for a special dinner. Simple to make and looks great on the plate. Ingredients:
2 lbs fresh green beans, trimmed |
3 cups water |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
4 ounces sliced mushrooms |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
1 tablespoon butter |
2 minced garlic cloves |
1 tablespoon fresh thyme |
2 tablespoons sliced almonds |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Bring salted water to boil. 2. Add trimmed green beans cook until tender but still crisp. 3. Drain, chill in ice water- set aside- drain again after chilled. 4. In saute pan heat oil and butter, add mushroom and garlic. 5. Sautee' til tender. 6. Add beans to mushrooms. 7. Heat through. 8. Add thyme leaves, almonds and season to taste with salt and pepper. |
