I discovered this recipe when I was horsing around in the kitchen and thought, What would bread with herbs on it, under the broiler, taste like? so I tried it out and discovered it was the most wonderful piece of bread I had eaten. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!!!!! Ingredients:
4 slices french bread |
1 tablespoon rosemary, chopped |
1 tablespoon thyme, chopped |
1 tablespoon chives, sliced |
1 tablespoon basil, strips (not too big) |
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, for basting |
1/2 tablespoon butter |
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated |
10 sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil, chopped |
2 marinated artichoke hearts, chopped |
Directions:
1. Baste the bread with olive oil, put small slices of butter on top. 2. Put the sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke, rosemary, chives, thyme, and basil, on top evenly spread across the bread, Then sprinkle the cheese on top. 3. Toast under broiler till edges are are a nice crispy brown and cheese is melted. |
