3 cups self rising flour |
3 tbsp. granulated sugar |
1 tbsp. dried italian herbs or(1tsp.each oregano, basil & thyme) |
12 oz.beer room temp,. |
1/2cup parmesan cheese (grated) |
1 tbsp. shortening |
3 tbsp. cornmeal |
2 tbsp. soft butter |
Directions:
1. In large mixing bowl combine, the flour, sugar, cheese & dried herbs 2. Mix well to combine 3. Stir in the room temperture beer to produce a stiff batter 4. preheat oven to 325 F 5. Grease a loaf-pan with shortening & sprinkle bottom & sides with 6. cornmeal 7. Turn batter into pan Bake at 325 for about 65 minutes 8. Brush baked loaf with softened butter & sprinkle with additional cornmeal (if desired) 9. turn out & cool on rack |
