These are served in a local school system cafeteria. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 3/4 cups sugar |
3 tablespoons cocoa |
1/2 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 cups quick-cooking oats |
1/2 cup peanut butter |
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine butter, sugar, cocoa and milk. 2. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil. 3. Boil without stiffing for 1 1/2 min. 4. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla, oats and peanut butter. 5. Stir until peanut butter is melted. 6. Drop by tablespoonful onto wax paper. 7. Chill until firm. 8. Makes 24-36. |
