I got this off of . I made a batch and pinched pea sized pieces for training treats. It literally made several hundred. My dog loved it. I gave him a baked one while rolling the other ones and he just sat there looking expectantly at me, for more! He even liked it unbaked. Serving size depends on how you cut it. And prep time is obviously more if you're doing the pea size pieces.
Ingredients:
1 (8 ounce) can canned salmon (in water, no salt)
1/2 cup chopped parsley or 1 tablespoon dried parsley
2 eggs (with shells- wash well)
1 cup flax seed meal
1 cup potato flour (not starch)
1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Directions:
1. Blend salmon, parsley and eggs until smooth. (I used my immersion blender for this). Add flax meal and blend until mixed.
2. Pour into a bowl and stir in flour and garlic powder if using. Add a little more flour if needed to make a soft dough. (I had to knead a little to incorporate all the dough).
3. Roll onto a floured surface and cut with a cookie cutter into desired shape (or you can just cut into squares with a knife, or pinch off pea sized pieces).
4. Bake on a cookie sheet at 375° F for 15-20 minutes until they are as soft or crispy as you want them to be.
5. Store in refrigerator or freezer.
