This is my mom's recipe, and all the amounts (except the can of tomato sauce) are somewhat approximate. This is good hot, but even better cold and sliced for sandwiches. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1 egg |
1/2 onion, finely chopped |
1/2 bell pepper, finely chopped |
1/2 cup breadcrumbs |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients. 2. Use your hands to mix! 3. Shape into a loaf. 4. Place on a rack in baking pan so fat can drain from the loaf. 5. Bake at 325°F for 1 hour. |
