HEAVENLY CHILLED ORANGE CHEESECAKE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Kerr Estate in Fort Worth, Texas in 1984. Another tried and true delight that is always eaten right up. Ingredients:
crust |
1 cup chocolate wafer crumbs |
3 tablespoons melted butter |
filling |
1 envelope unflavored gelatin |
1/2 cup orange juice |
24 ounces softened cream cheese |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 cup whipping cream whipped |
2 teaspoons grated orange peel |
Directions:
1. Combine crumbs and butter. 2. Press into bottom of 9 inch spring form pan. 3. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes then cool completely. 4. Soften gelatin in juice. 5. Stir over low heat until dissolved. 6. Combine cream cheese and sugar mixing well on medium. 7. Gradually add gelatin. 8. Chill until slightly thickened then fold in whipped cream and peel. 9. Pour over crust then chill until firm. |
