My husbands favorite. Very good recipe. Ingredients:
1/2 cup warm water |
2 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/2 cup shortening |
1 cup buttermilk |
1 teaspoon yeast |
Directions:
1. Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside. 2. Mix ingredients in the order given. 3. Cut in shortning. 4. Stir in buttermilk and yeast water. 5. Mix. 6. Put dough on floured board. 7. Knead lightly. 8. Dough may be slightly sticky. Add flour. 9. Let rise slightly. 10. Bake 400 degrees until lightly browned. |
