Please don't make this - I'm trying to find the original scrap of paper I had it written on to see what I goofed in copying. Thanks!........ .................... ............ ........ ..................... ....................... ......................... ......... ................... ..................................... .......................................... .............. ............. ....................... I got this from a friend while in Germany. It is very easy, but you have to stay with it. It is always popular at our holiday treat exchange. Ingredients:
1 cup butter (not margarine) |
1 cup sugar |
3 tablespoons water |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 lb milk chocolate chips or 1 lb semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. In heavy saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and water. Stirring constantly bring to 300* on candy thermometer. 2. Remove from heat - add vanilla and stir (careful, it will bubble). 3. Pour into foil lined or silpat covered cookie sheet - sprinkle chocolate chips on top. 4. When the chips melt, spread the chocolate over like frosting. 5. After it sets, break into pieces and place in airtight container. |
