Made with old-fashioned oats, this breakfast casserole keeps a nice texture in the oven. Ingredients:
1 (18 ounce) container old fashioned oats |
1 cup brown sugar, packed |
1 cup pecans, chopped |
3 granny smith apples, cored and chopped |
3 braeburn apples, cored and chopped |
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 cups water |
1 cup milk |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 pan. 2. In a large bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, pecans, apples, cinnamon, and salt. Add water and milk, stirring to combine. Spoon mixture into prepared baking dish. Drizzle with melted butter. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. 3. Bake for 1 hour, stirring halfway through. |
