Several years ago, a naturopath gave me this recipe. It's worked really well as a full breakfast meal. If you don't like the Indian-style spices, you could reduce, replace, or eliminate the tumeric, fennel, and coriander. But personally, I like this recipe in part because it's nowhere near a normal sweet breakfast cereal. Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats |
1 cup rolled barley |
1 cup rye flakes |
1/2 cup ground flax seeds (flax seed meal) |
1/2 cup soy lecithin |
1 teaspoon turmeric |
1 teaspoon fennel seed |
1 teaspoon ground coriander |
1 cup slivered almonds |
1 cup raisins |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together. 2. Add dairy, soy, or rice milk to each serving accordingly. |
