Hearty Homemade Tomato Soup |

I love tomato soup and I had to find something between 'from a can' and the gourment soups that cost far too much. After searching many recipes (including ingredients in that gourmet soup) I tried throwing something together and what I got was this delicious, thick and hearty tomato soup, just to my liking! Ingredients:
1 (14 ounce) can sweet potatoes |
1 (14 ounce) can navy beans |
1 (10 ounce) jar roasted red peppers |
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes |
1 (28 ounce) can tomato sauce |
3 cups water |
1/4 cup condensed chicken broth |
1/4 cup onion flakes |
1 tablespoon garlic |
1 tablespoon basil |
1 tablespoon oregano |
salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. Puree sweet potatoes, beans, peppers (including oil in jar) and tomatoes. 2. Add puree to tomato sauce and water in crock, pot mix well. 3. Add spices to taste. 4. Turn on low and simmer 4-6 hours to let flavours set. 5. Optional:. 6. Add 1 cup cream to turn into a bisque. |
