Didn't have the ingredients for the other recipes i found online for hamburger soup, so i created my own. Now its a family favorite, my husband never eats soup and he just loves it. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1 tablespoon garlic powder |
1/2 tablespoon salt |
1/2 tablespoon pepper |
1/2 tablespoon oregano |
1/4 teaspoon chili powder |
1 tablespoon soy sauce |
1 small yellow onion, diced |
4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced |
6 cups boiling water |
6 beef bouillon cubes |
1 (16 ounce) jar pasta sauce (i used ragu tomato and basil) |
1 cup frozen sweet corn |
1/2 cup frozen green beans |
1 (8 ounce) box penne pasta |
Directions:
1. Brown Ground Beef in a large soup pot, and drain fat. 2. Meanwhile in a large sauce pan, boil the 6 cups of water with the buillon cubes. 3. Add salt, pepper, oregano, chilli powder, garlic powder, and onion to the beef. Stir to mix seasonings evenly. 4. Add beef broth to seasoned meat, then add the 16oz. jar of pasta sauce, and the soy sauce. 5. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. 6. Add the potatos, corn, and green beans to the pot. 7. Simmer covered for 30 minutes. 8. Add the Penne Pasta, and simmer for another 30 minutes. 9. Top with parmesean cheese if you want and enjoy :). |
