This a good recipe to make ahead and bake in the morning. Ingredients:
1 lb pork sausage |
1/2 cup onion, chopped |
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded, divided |
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained |
1 (4 1/2 ounce) jar sliced mushrooms, drained |
12 eggs |
2 cups heavy cream |
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
Directions:
1. In a skillet, cook sausage and onion until the sausage is browned and the onion is tender; drain. 2. Remove from the heat; stir in 1 cup cheese, spinach and mushrooms. 3. Transfer to a greased 9x13 baking dish. 4. In a bowl beat eggs. Add cream and nutmeg; mix well. Pour over sausage mixture. 5. Bake, uncovered, at 350°F or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. 6. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting. |
