I love this recipe in the fall. Delicious. Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar |
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened |
2 eggs |
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger |
1 cup shredded apple |
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (2 ounces) |
1/3 cup chopped nuts |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350. 2. Grease and flour bottom only of 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan. 3. Beat sugar, butter and eggs in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. 4. Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and ginger. 5. Stir in apples, cheese and nuts. 6. Spoon batter into pan. 7. Bake about 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 8. Cool 5 minutes. 9. Loosen sides of loaf from pan; remove from pan to wire rack. 10. Cool completely before slicing. |
