Delicious heart shaped heart cookies.Perfect for Valentine's Day! Ingredients:
21/2c flour |
1tsp ground ginger |
1tsp. cinnamon |
1/2tsp ground nutmeg |
1tsp baking powder |
1/8 tsp salt |
16 tbs. unsalted butter,room temperature |
1c packed lt. brown sugar |
Directions:
1. In large bowl,combine flour,ginger,cinnamon,nutmeg,baking powder and salt.
2. In seperate large bowl beat butter with electric mixer till creamy.Gradually add sugar and beat till light and fluffy. Add flour mixture,a little at a time,and beat till mixture forms a stiff yet pliable dough. Turn out onto a floured work surface and knead into a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate until completely chilled,at least 2 hours.
3. Preheat oven to 400 and line 2 large baking sheets with parchment. Roll out dough to 1/4 thickness. Cut out cookies with 2 heart-shaped cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 apart on baking sheets. Bake until cookies are firm in the center,about 10 mins. Let cool on wire racks.
