These cookies are so soft and delicious, you won't believe they're low in calories and fat! My recipe made 42 cookies, but I tend to make mine rather small. Also, butter can be substituted for margarine and the type of chocolate is up to you. Ingredients:
1/4 cup applesauce |
2 tbsp. margarine |
1/3 cup white sugar |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1 egg |
1 tsp. vanilla extract |
1 cup whole wheat flour |
3/4 tsp. salt |
1 tsp. baking soda |
1 tsp. cinnamon |
3/4 cup quick cooking oats |
3/4 cup chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Beat together applesauce, margarine, and sugar. 3. Beat in egg and vanilla. 4. In a separate mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. 5. Stir flour mixture into first mixture and mix well. 6. Then stir in oats, followed by the chocolate. 7. Place rounded tsp-full 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. 8. Bake 10-12 minutes. |
