A healthy alternative to your grandmom's cornbread. The organic, medium grind, stone ground grains are so satisfying! Ingredients:
1 cup bob's red mill 100% stone ground cornmeal, medium grind |
1 cup whole wheat flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
4 teaspoons baking powder |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 egg |
1 cup milk |
1/4 cup butter or margarine |
10 inch iron skillet |
3 tablespoons oil |
Directions:
1. Mix together the dry ingredients 2. Add egg, milk, butter or margarine and stir until smooth 3. Heat oven to 375 degrees 4. Heat oil in the skillet on top of the stove and pour the batter 5. Put in oven and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown 6. Serve with margarine on the side |
