Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies |

I'm always looking for cookies without all the fat and calories and many times my experiments flop but these are delicious! Ingredients:
1/4 cup applesauce |
2 tablespoons butter |
1/3 cup white sugar |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 cup whole wheat flour |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
3/4 cup quick-cooking oats |
3/4 cup dark chocolate chips or 3/4 cup dark chocolate bar |
2 tablespoons wheat bran flakes |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Beat together applesauce, butter and sugar. 3. Beat in egg and vanilla. 4. In a separate mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, 5. salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. 6. Stir flour mixture into first mixture and mix well. 7. Then stir in oats, followed by the bran flakes and the chocolate. 8. Place rounded tsp-full 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. 9. Bake 10-12 minutes. |
