I found this recipe in a magazine. Will adjust later w/ 1% milk & reduced fat cheese. Approved by my daughter who loves mac & cheese. Ingredients:
14 1/2 oz ronzoni smart taste penne regate pasta |
3 tbsp all purpose flour |
1/2 tsp onion salt |
1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper |
2 cups 2% milk |
8 oz pureed carrots (2 jars baby food) |
8 oz sharp cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Cook pasta according to package and drain 2. Mix flour, salt, pepper in med saucepan. Whisk in milk until smooth 3. Cook over med high heat stiring constantly until boils & thickens, about 5 minutes. remove from heat. 4. Add carrots & cheese to sauce stir until melted. Stir sauce into drained pasta. |
