Healthier Almond Pie Crust |

A healthy pie crust made with oats... really great with pumpkin or apple pie! Makes one bottom crust for a 9 inch pie. Ingredients:
1 cup quick oats |
1/4 c whole wheat flour |
1/4 cup ground almonds |
2 tbsp brown sugar |
1/4 tsp salt |
3 tbsp vegetable oil |
1 tbsp water |
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 425ยบ 2. Mix the oats, flour, ground almonds, sugar and salt together in a mixing bowl. 3. In a measuring cup or small bowl, blend the oil and water together with a small whisk or fork. This may take several minutes. 4. Add the oil & water mixture to the dry ingredients until it will hold together (you may need to add a sprinkle more of water). 5. Spray a pie pan with cooking spray and press the crust into it. 6. Bake it at 425 for 8-10 minutes until it is lightly golden brown. |
