I don't know who Hazel was, or how I got her recipe, but this is a nice bar cookie that is fairly easy to make. I've had the recipe for over 30 years. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1 cup graham flour |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 1/2 cups brown sugar |
1/4 cup flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1 cup chocolate chips |
1 cup nuts, chopped (walnuts or pecans are good) |
Directions:
1. BASE - Preheat oven to 350*. Mix butter, brown sugar and graham flour to form a dough. Pat evenly into a 9 x 13 pan that you have sprayed with cooking spray (or greased with butter). Bake 350* for 12-15 minutes. 2. TOPPING - Lower oven temperature to 325*. Beat eggs, vanilla, brown sugar, flour and baking powder for 1 minute on low speed of a mixer. 3. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. 4. Spread over crust. 5. Return to oven and bake 325* for 25-30 minutes. |
