HAZELNUT ICE CREAM This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Bailey Estate in Grand Prairie, Texas in 2006. Ingredients:
1/2 cup half and half |
1-1/2 cups milk |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup pasteurized egg substitute |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1-1/2 teaspoons hazelnut extract |
1/4 teaspoons xanthan gum |
1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts |
Directions:
1. Combine half and half, milk, sugar, egg substitute, flavor extracts and xanthan gum in a blender. 2. Cover and puree 3 minutes then pour into freezer of your ice cream maker and stir in the nuts. 3. Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. 4. Let stand 5 minutes at room temperature or until it can be sliced easily. |
