Hazelnut Cream Filling Or Frosting |

This is very tasty. Enough to fill 12 pastries or ice one 2 layer cake. This is extremely good. Enjoy Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar |
1/4 cup water |
6 egg yolks slightly beaten |
2 tablespoons hazelnut liqueur |
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla |
1-1/2 cup unsalted butter softened |
Directions:
1. In a heavy medium saucepan combine sugar and water then bring to boiling. 2. Remove from heat then gradually stir half of the sugar mixture egg yolks in bowl. 3. Return all of the egg yolk mixture to saucepan. 4. Bring to a gentle boil then reduce heat then cook and stir 2 minutes. 5. Remove from heat then stir in hazelnut liqueur and vanilla. 6. Cool to room temperature. 7. In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on high speed until fluffy. 8. Add cooled sugar mixture beating until combined. 9. Use as frosting for your favorite cake or as a filling for pastries. |
