I love hazelnuts so when I came across this recipe from one of the estate sales I purchased a few years ago I made these and was amazed at how good they are. They are now a regular in my home and highly requested by family and friends. Read more . Enjoy Ingredients:
1/2 cup hazelnuts |
1 cup unsalted butter |
2 cups granulated sugar |
4 eggs beaten to blend |
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
1/3 cup all purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
7 ounces semisweet chocolate coarsely chopped |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 then toast hazelnuts and remove husks then coarsely chop. 2. Lightly butter a rectangular baking pan. 3. Melt 1 cup butter in heavy large saucepan over low heat. 4. Remove from heat and whisk in sugar, eggs, cocoa and vanilla then stir in flour and salt. 5. Add chopped chocolate and nuts then spread batter in prepared pan. 6. Bake until tester inserted in center comes out barely moist but not wet about 30 minutes. 7. Cool in pan on rack. Then cut into squares. |
